Our way of giving back to to those who serve others

"Service brings humility, and humility leads to the perfection of love." We would like to take this moment to update you on the expanding Community Service Program within Universal Force Healing Center. Our goal with this program is to serve those in need – it's as simple as that!

We are in the process of creating a networking database of open-hearted people who would be interested in coordinating their gifts with the needs of those that we serve as this program flourishes. Our Community Service Program is solely a volunteer-based program. We
are looking for Yoga Alliance certified teachers of any style of yoga, together with those who have specialty skills, background/experience (ie. bi-lingual, children, elderly, the handicapped, underdeveloped communities and so forth.)

Our
Community Service Program is not only limited to teachers. We welcome everyone who wants to lend a helping hand and heart. Your presence is a gift and your wealth of experience is invaluable. We welcome you with open arms.

The following are some of the organizations with whom we are building relationships:

Community Classes at UFHC have been ongoing since its inception. Not only is it our commitment to serve the community, we also would like the community to know that it has an open invitation to 'Share the Spirit' here at Universal Force Healing Center, making it their home as well as ours. We would also like to thank Cindy for doing a wonderful job, serving these past several months, coordinating and ensuring teacher coverage for these classes, so please let Cindy know if you are a certified yoga teacher and have an interest in teaching a community class. Teachers are needed after November 8th. Cindy can be contacted at the following email address: cindy@universalforceyoga.com

Hearts of Gold, www.heartsofgold.org, exists to improve the lives of NYC's homeless mothers and their children. We would like to explore practical ways, through yoga, on an ongoing basis, to help these families as they transition to permanent homes.

Hudson Guild, www.hudsonguild.org, was founded in 1895 and has deep roots in the New York City community. Their services range from childcare and early education, to development services for youth, to nutritional and recreational services for older adults. We are participating in their Volunteer Program by teaching weekly yoga classes to the very young and the very young at heart (4yrs.-90yrs.).

Starlight Starbright is a children's foundation, www.starlight-newyork.org. We recently participated in their 6th Annual Starlight Spectacular by donating 100 free yoga classes and are currently in the process of putting together a special yoga event that will help support their beautiful program for seriously ill children and their families.

St. Vincent's Hospital - One of our original service collaborations has been with St. Vincent's Hospital. We are pleased to continue to expand our sponsorship and support of our team member, Janice, as she brings yoga to St. Vincent's Hospital.

As you can see, our Community Service Program is taking root and expanding. We are in the beginning stages of our participation in these Community Service projects. We would be most grateful for any help you can offer.

For those of you who would like to join this expanding force of Light, please contact us at the following e-mail address: CommunityService@universalforceyoga.com

"Each and every person that comes to you in need is an opportunity to enhance your personal happiness. Indeed, they are blessings in your life; for your happiness and pain in the present and/or future are directly related to how many come to you, and how many you serve or deny. The more people you serve, the more people God sends you. If you serve others, God will serve you, for if you can hold another who is falling apart in the flow of spirit, if you can bring them to the Divine Spiritual Wisdom, you have attained a state of consciousness that is the virtue of all virtues."
